The T17 is a very lightweight 1-to-1 scale M4 realistic .68 cal replica which runs on a fully mechanical and internally regulated blow forward system called the Mini D.E.R.P. (Dynamic Exo Retention Platform). With the F.B.U. (Flexi Breech Unit) it is capable of shooting the regular .68 roundball and shaped projectiles at semi or fully automatic mode. It comes with a completely new realistic magazine, the Mats stock and free-floating M-lok shroud.
The Mini D.E.R.P. (Dynamic Exo Retention Platform)
is a platform which contains a small HeatCore in one functional mechanical housing. This means that the internals of the gun can be completely removed and operated independently of the marker body. It is a very smooth and reliable core with its superb +/- fps consistency over the chronograph. The newest version comes with a softer spring and modified bolt to increase air efficiency.
The F.B.U. (Flexi Breech Unit)
is a completely new system of flexible breech which adapts its size and stable feed path for today’s shaped projectiles. It is so flexible that there is no additional ball detent needed.
Mechanical FullAuto System.
is a patented very simple mechanical system with realistic fire selector, which offers Safe/Semi/FullAuto mode.
AR15 1-to-1 Scale
comes in a light polymer receiver with all realistic details and dimensions. The fire selector, the magazine release, and cocking handle all are exactly positioned like the original. The receiver and magwell are also the same dimensions as the original.
The realistic look and light weight is paid off by lower exterior durability. As long as it is fine for regular use it has not been designed for heavy duty. If exceptional durability is needed the M17 G3 is the right choice.
Comparison to the new M17 G3
Both use the same magazine, stock and shroud but different receiver and internals. Both can be hopper fed if needed.
The T17 has the new Mini D.E.R.P.(Dynamic Exo Retention Platform) and F.B.U. (Flexi Breech Unit) for best performance. The Allen key for two screws required it to take it apart. The G3 comes with the standard Heat Core concept with tool less 2 pin maintenance take down.
While T17 is a 1-to-1 scale M4 realistic replica designed to be more realistic and lightweight. It doesn't have the exterior durability of the G3. The G3 is designed for dirty jobs. It comes with a steel plate reinforced nylon receiver but a less realistic look.
